Salary: £39,000.00 depending on experience

The opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Customs Officer to be based in either our Bolton or Stevenage site to assist with the day-to-day Customs operations. You will be assisting with the running of the IPR, OPR and Customs Warehousing controls along with all other imports into and exports from the business across the UK.

This is a critical role to ensure MBDA's compliance with HMRC and is ideal for someone who enjoys a challenge. You will have a keen eye for detail, which is paramount in this role and also thrive on assisting with continuous improvement for the whole department.

What we're looking for from you:
  • Experience in technical and practical aspects of Import and Export Customs procedures.
  • Knowledge of customs special procedures, IPR, OPR and Customs Warehousing.
  • A detailed knowledge of all fields on a CHIEF or CDS customs entry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multifunctional departments within MBDA UK.
  • Capability to produce professional and concise documentation
  • A working knowledge and understanding of Tariff codes and Customs Procedure Codes alongside the Rules of Origin.
  • Must have a willingness to learn new topics.

There will be a total of 6 operational and 1 technical people in our growing Customs team. As part of the tax team, you will also be part of the wider Finance function but will work very closely with a number of other areas of the business, including Shipping.
