Job Title: Data Governance and Data Management Officer

Salary: Circa £48,000 depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The Data Governance and Data Management Officer is accountable for the tangible implementation of data governance and data management practices at MBDA through support to business areas.

You will work within a close and motivated international team to provide direct support to many of our business areas to develop good practice around the governance and management of data and data projects.

Collaborators might be from different domains, sectors or nationalities, inside MBDA and outside MBDA.

The Data Governance and Data Management Officer actively gives to the sector's activities and will be based in UK (Stevenage) within an international environment.

The Data Governance and Data Management Officer actively gives to the sector's activities and will be based in UK (Stevenage) within an international environment.

  • Implement the data governance and data management framework within projects and business areas
  • Propose, assess and implement the tangible rules for handling data, with a specific focus on data accessibility and data quality
  • Assess and support the implementation of the data roles and responsibilities within the business areas or projects
  • Challenge and give to the definition and the usage of technical solutions supporting the data governance and data management, ensuring the alignment with the business areas needs
  • Propose, supervise and report activity content, progress and planning
  • Propose and deliver written and oral presentations for various audience level
  • Contribute to working groups and steering committees
  • Facilitate Data Networks, aggregate and share feedback and standard methodologies
  • Contribute to sector's reporting and communication
  • Support other initiatives in the sector
  • Lead knowledge, share standard process for data governance and data management within MBDA and provide benchmarks for data topics

What we're looking for from you:

  • Knowledge / experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Python, SQL, Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Ability to deliver tangible results and to respect milestones
  • Proactive and results oriented
  • Experience delivering metrics and useful KPIs for data management
  • Proven examples of Identifying risks and opportunities, proposing improvements and mitigation plans
