The role
As a Design and Safety Process Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary providing support to governance of activities within the 9 Dock boundary.
* Managing Plant Safety Case interfaces, interpreting and implementing Site Licence Agreements/Authorisation Compliance Conditions. Ensuring appropriate safety management arrangements are published and adhered to.
* Ensuring effective implementation of revised Safety Cases (including introduction of relevant procedural controls).
* Ensuring that there is an effective interface between the Plant Management Group, the Operations & Maintenance team and the Engineering Services Technical Authority (via the relevant Design and Safety Manager).
* Demonstrating compliance with mandated regulatory requirements.

Day to day, you'll,
* Liaise with Design and Technical Authorities to understand technical detail and provide customer guidance.
* Liaise with Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure required work is undertaken.
* Manage and implement changes to Safety Cases.
* Prioritise your workload to ensure programme deadlines are met.

Essential experience of the Design and Safety Process Engineer,
* Ability to solve complex and diverse problems without compromising safety to the submarine programme.
* Good interpersonal skills to manage our stakeholders and help them to deliver changes on the ground.
* Able to think logically gaining information from other teams and then suggesting solutions.
* Awareness of the regulation of an operational facility, preferably nuclear.
* Teamwork experience.

This role is based full time on site working 36 hours per week.

Qualifications for the Design and Safety Process Engineer,
* Degree qualified in relevant discipline (e.g. Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM)) with the ability to demonstrate appropriate degree level IT skills or HNC with relevant experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC & NNPPI security clearance level for this role.
