WHAT TO EXPECT

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DevOps Engineer, someone that has experience designing, developing and documenting robust CI/CD pipeline solutions, to address the challenge of “How do we combine methods and technologies with Agile principles and ways-of-working, to allow us to design high-integrity embedded software more robustly and deterministically?”

Jaguar Land Rover is looking for a DevOps Engineer, who has experience in safety-critical development, software quality and automated CI/CD development. The individual must also have a very good understanding of designing, developing, building, verifying and configuring software products into embedded systems.  Someone who is willing to keep an open mind and challenge their current beliefs and/or assumptions, to develop new ways-of-working, that combine the pace of DevOps with the learnings of embedded safety critical software development.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical leadership of design and implement solutions to improve automation for a new Agile Software Engineering Delivery Framework, using your experience to coach the team and make key decisions.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

In this role you will contribute to process improvements and opportunities for automation, by planning and executing defined DevOps and related engineering project tasks, finding timely resolutions to all routine and foundational DevOps problems and escalates complex issues.

Gather and process input from DevOps and Engineering subject matter experts across development lifecycle to support evolving concepts in continuous integration and deployment pipelines for existing and new services.

Additional responsibilities will include; embedding engineering processes into CI/CD pipeline designs including hook designs and enabling the integration of CI/CD pipelines with Big Data visualisation solutions and planning solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 Essential:

  • Experience with DevOps tools and software engineering
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Experience
  • Atlassian stack, Jira/Confluence including API integration
  • Use of scripting or programming languages like bash, shell, Python etc.
  • Experience CI/CD pipeline design and implementation (including automated testing framework)

Desirable:

  • Experience in MathWorks Simulink – design, integration and simulation
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Skills in GitLab CI/CD
