The role
As an EC&I Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements during construction activities for Cavendish Nuclear and the Client.

Day to day, the EC&I Engineer will be responsible for meeting the design and safety intentions throughout the construction process.

  • Oversee engineering planning and establish safe systems of work for various tasks.
  • Support the Site Manager and Project Manager with work planning and manage work packages delegated by Senior Engineers.
  • Review designs, conduct Risk Assessments, and develop method statements and quality plans.
  • Manage the approval process for work packages and brief work crews, including subcontractors.
  • Monitor and drive progress, quality, and safety during construction, and manage inspections.
  • Complete work package close-outs and perform additional duties as directed by the Line Manager

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, 8:30-4:30 (no shifts), and occasional overtime, as and when required. The EC&I Engineer will be based at Torness Nuclear Power Station which is located approximately 30 miles east of Edinburgh at Torness Point near Dunbar in East Lothian, Scotland (occasional travel to other sites for training purposes).


Essential experience of the EC&I Engineer

  • Experience in site delivery roles.
  • Background in engineering or construction management on complex projects in regulated environments
  • Experience covering various engineering topics and all project phases in regulated settings.

Qualifications for the EC&I Engineer

  • Engineering degree or HNC.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification is desirable but can be provided if not already held; willingness to obtain it is required.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
