WHAT TO EXPECT

As a 3D EDS engineer you will support In House LV EDS projects and be responsible for the design and delivery of optimised Harness routings using Jaguar Land Rover CAD standards and methodology to route to the Low Voltage system Electrical connections on a vehicle. This entails collaborative mindset interacting closely with cross-departmental teams (Body engineering, Chassis etc), Manufacturing, Vehicle engineering within Product Engineering.

Key Accounabilities and Responsibilities 

You will be taking personal responsibility for Design Engineering tasks and deliverables, responsible to design the wiring harnesses routing in line with Jaguar Land Rover Bill of design (BoD), Bill of process (BoP) and harness DFM requirements and form effective working relationships with cross functional teams. You will work well with people from diverse backgrounds e.g. suppliers, business partners, and offshore/onsite engineers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work within timing constraints and be resourceful, highly driven and self-motivated. Experience in Team leadership and Project Management are desirable, as well as previous work within a multidiscipline Engineering team. Other desirable skills are experience of technical problem resolution and experience of manufacturing process of Vehicles.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience with CATIA V5 or V6
  • Self-starter able to sustain a high, multitask workload.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • Must be computer literate, excel, word, PowerPoint and easily adapt to company specific systems (previous knowledge in WERS, AIMS, RMDV, ECR’s would be a benefit but not essential as training can be provided).
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels within the company.
  • Experience with CATIA V6.

Desirable:

  • Low Voltage Harness routing experience
  • Low Voltage Harness manufacturing experience
  • Working in an Agile Structure
  • Bill Of Design and Bill of process knowledge
  • Experience in Capital Harness
  • ECAD/MCAD alignment experience
  • Experience with the following tools: Team Center, 3D Experience, DT Database, ECR Database, Digital Buck, EDS-Designer, WERS, AIMS, RMDV, JIRA.
  • AVA (parametric) modelling
