Known as PMA2 and worth at least £6.5 billion, the agreement will deliver battle winning complex weapons to the UK Armed Forces faster, at lower cost and with greater agility. PMA2 will also support British jobs, skills and industrial investment.

PMA2 will drive a further £3 billion in Benefits and Efficiencies (B&E) while enhancing current capabilities. To support our deliverables, we are recruiting for an Efficiencies Business Analyst to undertake a pivotal role in supporting the evidencing of Benefits and Efficiencies from our business Transformation and Improvement (T&I) activities.

Reporting to the Benefits and Efficiencies Manager within the Portfolio team, you will work closely with Programmes and Functions to develop T&I content with associated financial and non-financial Benefits so that we can evidence our PMA2 deliverables.

Excellent relationship building skills are necessary, as you will be working with several stakeholders across internal teams and with the UK customer. You will be able to analyse complex technical information and ideas with the ability to develop them into clear evidence packs for internal and external stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for driving Transformation and Improvement, and realising Benefits and Efficiencies in a complex weapons environment.

Role accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across MBDA UK to identify, analyse, and document business T&I/B&E activity
  • Conduct thorough analysis and translate T&I/B&E activity into evidence packs and robust calculation methodologies
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather updates and feedback from key stakeholders
  • Work within the wider Portfolio team and developing key working relationships
  • Track status of MBDA UK Portfolio T&I deliverables and milestones and working with the UK PMO.
  • Support the adoption of the Efficiency Release Mechanism lifecycle and artefact deliverables including Evidence Packs for the UK Customer
  • Supporting Portfolio T&I & B&E risk and issue management
  • Producing Portfolio level reports and analysis for key meetings including the Portfolio Sector Review, Continuous Improvement Working Group (CIWG), Benefits & Efficiencies Working Group (BEWG) and UK Sponsors Review
  • Supporting the development of the Portfolio Efficiencies register to enable visibility, transparency and generate meaningful insights regarding Portfolio T&I maturity
  • Contribute to the periodic review of Portfolio T&I governance arrangements (including the Portfolio Continuous Improvement Policy and CIWG)
  • Develop and produce Portfolio reports and dashboards in Power BI as required
  • Management of Portfolio T&I level documentation in key repositories including network drives, SharePoint, DRM, Defence Share

  • Skills - Strong Excel skills and analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, complex problem solving, development and analysis of process flows, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge - Familiarity with the defence industry is desirable but not essential as training and development in the sector will be provided
  • You will be results orientated with an organised approach to structuring and managing information
  • You will be confident providing reports both externally to the UK customer and internally to senior management, both verbally and in written format.
  • You will have strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts simply and concisely.
  • You will be confident in producing PowerPoint presentations, including tailoring outputs to meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.
