The role
As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Weapons Systems, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working within your role, carry out testing and fault diagnosing, setting to work and presenting trails for both the ships and submarines weapons systems. This is a multi-disciplined team and will give you a wide exposure and give you the opportunity to develop and grow your skills within both electrical and mechanical engineering.

Day to day, you'll support both the ships and submarines platforms with the refit, support and fault finding and rectification of defects. You will also look to provide subject matter expertise to both internal and external stakeholders.

* Installing, setting to work, carrying out defect rectification and trials for weapons systems on RN Surface Ships and Submarines.
* Liaising with Ship Co-ordinators, Maritime Capability Trials Authority, Production staff, and Class Output Management when required on aspects of Weapons systems commissioning.
* Managing and attending operational defects for surface ship and submarines in fleet time.
* Ensure good health and safety standards are maintained within the team and others effected by work activities.

Essential experience of the Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Weapons Systems
* An understanding and working knowledge of Electrical installation, commissioning and defect rectification on electrical equipment / systems.
* Experience of setting to work and fault finding - desirable
* Some knowledge or marine or ships installation would be beneficial but not essential
* Understanding of MS Office Packages

This role is based Onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Agile working when required.

Qualifications for the Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Weapons Systems
* ONC or equivalent experience in an Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role. This role may be ITAR implicated.
