The Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer will make

As an Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will be key in maintaining and improving nuclear and non-nuclear safety assets on site at Devonport. This role also offers you the opportunity to further develop your skills and experience with training support.

Day to day, you'll provide professional technical assistance and advice to support ongoing operational availability and maintenance of mechanical handling assets.

This role provides hybrid working arrangements with 1day in the office/onsite and 4 days working from home. You are able to work onsite for 5 days a week.

Essential experience

* An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
* Ability to understand / produce technical documentation - reports, specifications, calculations, and engineering drawings.
* The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role. Sole UK nationals only.
