Salary: Circa £56,000 depending on experience

Typically for this role you will work 2 days a week on-site.  

The opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to lead our growing Interconnects team. The Team Lead role manages a small team and cable/harness work packages to deliver design solutions for the creation of bespoke cable designs. Working closely with various stakeholders, you will use customer, environmental and technical requirements to define manufacturable solutions delivered on time, on cost and on quality.

You will make sure the workload is planned, budgeted correctly and that design reviews and documentation are held/created on time with the appropriate audience. You will work with multiple departments and external suppliers to plan, implement and improve solutions whilst dealing with opportunities and challenges as they arise.

This role is varied, offering an opportunity to broaden your interpersonal and technical skills whilst working on complex projects. What we're looking for from you:

  • Experience leading a small team is advantageous, but not mandatory
  • Experience managing work packages, with the ability to balance cost, quality and schedule; simultaneously giving due consideration to Design for Manufacture and Design for Test
  • Experience of Interconnect/Cable/Harness design with an appreciation of Interconnect manufacturing processes
  • Experience of stakeholder management, review of requirements, providing technical guidance and Supplier assessment
  • A track record of on-time delivery along with good verbal and written communication skills.
