AWE are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support their Trials Delivery Unit. If you have experience in Electrical/C&I and knowledge of some of the following; shakers and amplifiers, centrifuges, drop test machines and their supporting plant such as, chilled water, Air Handling Units… then we want to hear from you.

Location: Reading

Package: £27,960- £40,000 (depending on suitability to the role)

The Role?

  • Assist delivery of Electrical and C&I Engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
  • Support ETDU to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Take ownership of own training and development.
  • Develop engineering skills and experience relevant to engineering domain Support, scoping, and planning activities as required.
  • Adherence to Company Management System requirements, relevant Technical Standards & Legislation, and business controls.

Part of this permanent on-site role is to work closely with senior engineers to apply engineering methodology and processes whilst working under limited levels of supervision. This role provides development opportunities with on-the-job training and courses.

May be required to carry out relevant safety related roles including but not limited to Work Supervisory Officer, Nominated or Authorised Person Electrical, Risk Assessor, with the opportunity to undertake compensated and non-compensated secondary roles providing various support capabilities.

We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience industrial/manufacturing/research environments incorporating infrastructure facilities, plant, and equipment. Previous experience as an installer or maintainer beneficial, this role is more hands-on technical.

What will you need to be considered?

  • Qualified apprenticeship or equivalent vocational qualification in a STEM discipline supported by practical experience or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work around explosive and radiological hazardous environments.
