Job Description: 

Working within the Engineering team to design develop and test new electronics assemblies that would be integrated into a mechanical package. You will be playing a key role bringing projects to market from concepts enabling full product life cycle. The ideal candidate will have the ability to visualize and detail designs clearly. The role offers training opportunities to those who have a desire to learn and grow as part of the business. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Development and Innovation – taking on responsibility for the electronic aspect of product developments, working closely in conjunction with the mechanical development engineer to ensure that it fits within spatial constraints.
  • PCB design /layout and producing the necessary associative documentation for manufacture.
  • Sourcing/ producing and testing prototypes where necessary.
  • Develop and test prototypes in accordance with applicable EMC legislation at our in house pre compliance testing facility (experience with automotive/ aerospace standards would be beneficial).
  • Identify and recommend product improvements based on cost optimization / technical performance.
  • Leading the qualification, test, and requirements management aspects of physical design, including a variety of EMC standards.
  • Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations.
  • Report writing of any internal testing completed for review.

Skills & Experience (Essential): 

  • Experience in both analogue and digital electronics hardware design. 
  • Experience with bringing product to market from concept (i.e full product lifecycle). 
  • 10 years minimum industrial experience. 

Skills & Experience (Desired): 

  • Experience and understanding of design for EMC compliance and testing.
  • Knowledge of CAN bus networks – particularly SAE J1939
  • Self motivated to work with minimal supervision on multiple, simultaneous projects at any one time

  • To have excellent communication skills, with a high level of literacy (written and oral).

Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. 

Package Details:

  • Working hours:
    • 35 hours per week
    • Monday to Thursday, 7.5 hours per day with 30 minute lunch break. 
    • Friday, 5 hours with no lunch break
  • 192.5 hours holiday per year (27.5 days equivalent) (Jan to Dec). 
  • Pension Contributions after 3 months service through auto-enrolment.
