Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: £39,280-£70,000 per annum (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

  • Junior Engineer - (E.g. New graduate with limited experience) - £39,280-£42,000 pa

  • Experienced Engineer - £42,000-£50,000 pa

  • Senior Engineer - £50,000-£70,000 pa (A relocation package may be available (terms and conditions apply)).

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.

AWE is currently recruiting for experienced Electronic Engineers.

Working as part of a small team of experienced engineers, this role offers candidates the opportunity to apply their domain knowledge and experience to the analysis of warhead electrical systems. The opportunity will build upon the successful candidate's depth of knowledge, will engrain good engineering practises and will develop their career with us.

Who are we looking for?

We need you to have the following:

  • A degree level qualification (degree or HND etc) in a Electrical/Electronic engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Applied Physics

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

  • Building computer models of aerospace/avionic systems (or similar)

  • Design and analysis of simulations

  • Experience of modelling and simulation tools e.g. MATLAB, Simulink, Python

  • Firm grasp of Newtonian Mechanics

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering

  • Analytical thinking and good problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills, including report writing and presentations

You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines. You will sometimes be asked to report your work, and to present your work to peers and senior leaders.

Ideally you will:

  • Have achieved or aspire towards gaining a professional qualification e.g. CEng
