AWE is currently recruiting for Electronics Technicians

Working as part of a small team of experienced engineers, this role offers candidates the opportunity to grow their knowledge and experience; Gaining the requisite depth of electronic technician operations to facilitate knowledge of warhead electrical systems so they can apply sound engineering principles to analyse these systems and develop their career with us.

Location: Reading

Salary: £29,640- £42,000 (dependent on experience)

The Role?

Ask yourself:

  • Do you know a MOSFET from a Thyristor?
  • Could I reverse engineer a simple PCB?
  • Do you know a 555 from a 741, and can design simple circuits?
  • Are you experienced in circuit build and repair?
  • Do you have experience of High Voltage testing? (Above 1000 volts)
  • Can you reliably capture test data on an oscilloscope?
  • Do you enjoy learning in a supportive environment?
  • Could I put my electronics knowledge to better use?

If you answer 'Yes' to some of these - you might be just what we are looking for!

Whilst no formal qualifications are required, they would be useful. Our team produce novel products for a range of customers. As such, on-the-job training is a significant part of the role, as our products are bespoke and this requires candidates to develop skills including high voltage electronics test, prototyping and build. There may be opportunities for the right candidate to undertake part-time study in Further / Higher education as part of this role.
