The Engineer (Marine Engineering) role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new Refit Support Group Engineer (Marine Engineering) will make
As a Refit Support Group Engineer (Marine Engineering), you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role oversees the delivery of the marine engineering component of the RSG output and is key to the maintenance of engineering standards.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for the safe and compliant delivery of marine engineering RSG contracted outputs within their team as specified in BR 8593 (004) and the RSG engineering management plan. You will also be responsible to the RSG Senior Engineer (Marine Engineering) for the engineering standards and compliance of the work undertaken by the T23 RSG Marine Engineering organisation.

Essential experience

* HNC/HND qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstrable experience
* Experienced Marine Engineer with a track record of successful project delivery and delivering change.
* An excellent communicator you will be comfortable with written and verbal communications with the ability to interact at all levels.
* You will have a good understanding of systems engineering and be agile and adaptable
* The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
