The role
As an Engineering Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will be embedded into the Ship Submersible Nuclear (SSN) Projects in Devonport.

Day-to-day, you'll work closely with the submarine engineering team in developing solutions to engineering challenges.

• Help to derive the maintenance requirements and support acceptance throughout the project lifecycle
• Answer and support technical queries emerging from the projects
• Own risk and mitigating actions either by themselves or by reaching back to Subject Matter Experts
• Provide project assurance through technical and gate reviews

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3-4 days in the office/onsite and 1-2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Engineering Manager

• Experience in aspects production and project delivery or submarine engineering
• Be familiar with project and risk management techniques
• Able to manage a complex workload with challenging deadlines
• Ability to work well with small teams as well as a wider groups of stakeholders. Fostering teamwork and collaboration

Qualifications for the Engineering Manager

• Level 6 qualification in Engineering
• Chartered Engineer

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
