The role
As an Engineering Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Leading a team (c.60) providing equipment maintenance, aircraft ground handling services, airfield, and communications management to support to our military customers, with responsibility for successfully managing the contracted deliverables, and providing excellent customer service.
Day to day:
* Management and control of all aviation support sections promoting a first class, safety first, zero harm culture, built on solid aviation engineering principles and policy.
* Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Form 4 Holder and MAOS 145 lead or be able to demonstrate a level of understanding to hold a letter of authority from the Form 4 Holder and interface with MAA.
* Responsible for company approvals, conducting assessments and authorising approval to work across engineering disciplines.
* Ensuring regulatory compliance across all engineering operations and providing assurance to site management by conducting internal audits and facilitating external audits.
* Engage with stakeholders and collaborate with other contractors to ensure the safe and robust delivery of engineering services on site.
* Deputise for Site Manager as/when required to ensure the contract output is delivered in a safe, compliant manner across all Babcock operations.
Essential experience of the Engineering Manager
* Military engineering background with previous MAOS 145 and MAA management experience desirable, or civilian aviation engineering equivalent.
* Demonstrable leadership experience, driving high performance and supporting personnel development.
* Comfortable in customer meetings, presenting performance against contract metrics.
* Proven stakeholder management experience in building effective working relationships and improving engagement satisfaction with senior customers, service users, and regulators.
* Change management experience to enhance performance and organisational flexibility.
* Experience analysing operational data in conjunction with current operating procedures to enable innovation and improvements, whilst reducing identified non-compliance.
This role is full time and is based on site at RAF Northolt
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
