The role
As an Engineering Support Multi-Skilled Operative, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Your role will include providing multi-skilled support for the Fleet Engineering teams as and when directed by section team leaders or line management.

Day to day, you'll conduct a wide range of activities to support the provision of services to UK nuclear submarines and warships, as well as visiting NATO units at HMNB Faslane. You will also:

  • Provide support to engineering teams to enable the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business
  • Provide support to engineering teams to enable the identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of Clyde HM submarines, surface craft and the estate.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales (
  • Work within all H&S legislation, safe systems of work and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies

This role is based full time on site at HMNB Clyde.

Essential experience of the Engineering Support Multi Skilled Operative

  • You may have experience in; safe working practises, forklift driving, slinging, labouring, access, facility/compliance.
  • We are looking for attitudes and behaviours in line with our company purpose and principles
  • Competent teamworking, communication, time management, prioritisation, organisational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications for the Engineering Support Multi Skilled Operative

  • All training will be provided, so experience of engineering / operations is not mandatory.
  • Driving licence is essential.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
