At L3Harris in Brighton we are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We specialise in high performance electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic technology.

We’re looking for someone to join our team in this exciting new role which will provide service, repair and maintenance to our T7 EOD (Explosive Ordinance Device) robots that are returned for maintenance or investigation. The role offers opportunities to touch a variety of operational and administrative processes, to be exposed to continuous improvement and be customer facing. The role requires someone to provide product software upgrades and calibration either at the Brighton site or at operational bases. In addition, you may also be involved with the assembly and test of our other electro-mechanical products that we manufacture at our Brighton site.

A driving licence, alongside willingness to support short notice travel to customer sites when needed is essential.

What you’ll bring

The role of Engineering Technician requires the following experience and skills:

  • Experience with testing, identification of faults and replacement of parts on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diligently follow and create standard working practices for disassembly & reassembly
  • Ability to update software, calibrating tools and robotic machinery
  • Previous work with ESD sensitive components
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical assembly drawings and technical reports.
  • Understanding of 6S principles (Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain & Safety)
  • ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • IT proficient
