Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the design, development and delivery of plastic components for high voltage batteries.

  • Support testing activities in both the virtual and physical domains, to ensure components meet their requirements.

  • Resolve technical issues, escalating when appropriate.

  • Assist the lead engineer with maintenance of component commodity plans.

  • Provide support and assistance to colleagues within the plastics chapter.

  • Bring a technical based approach in assessing new changes and / or requirements and be an advocate for improvements across the wider organisation.

  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job, as may be requested.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Have a degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or associated discipline (or relevant time served experience), with a sound understanding of engineering principles.

  • Interest in plastic component design, manufacturing processes and tool design.

  • Understanding of:

    • GD&T principles.

    • Failure mode analysis techniques 

    • Root cause analyses techniques (e.g. Six Sigma, 8D)
