The role
As an Estimator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll support the warships business unit producing labour and material estimating for the core ship programme.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for compiling labour and material estimates from work specifications, drawings and site visits in support of bids and for additional and emergent work during the project delivery phase.

  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders and customers you will ensure that the estimates that you produce meet the project need
  • Ensuring that all estimates that are produced are compliant with the relevant regulations
  • Supporting the Project Manager throughout the project lifecycle by providing timely data analysis to support management information and decision-making

This role is full time 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working.

Essential experience of the Estimator

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (primarily MS Excel and MS Teams)
  • Estimating-specific toolset (e.g. PPS, Mobi Dashboard, SSDD, Virtual Bridge, BR1 @Risk, Candy, ProPricer) experience - Desirable
  • Experience of cost estimating, cost and data analysis and cost assurance - Desirable
  • A sound understanding of the project environment would be an advantage

Qualifications for the Estimator

  • Recognised qualification or experience in an engineering discipline - Desirable
  • Recognised qualification in economic, mathematical or business-related higher award. - Desirable
  • APM PFQ or PMQ - Desirable

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
