The role
As a Facilities Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working on a Military site part of a flight training school, that provides training provision of the next generation of Military pilots and Support staff.

Day to day, you will be required to play a leading role in the delivery of all Hard FM services and associated contract outputs. This will include ownership of a suitable regime to achieve and maintain legal compliance on all building systems including and not limited to, Alarm systems, Fixed Electrical systems, Lighting Systems and Door controls, as well as:

  • The post holder will be required to produce reports & records of maintenance and keep computer aided Facilities Management systems updated.
  • The post holder will implement the business unit's safe system of work and manage the supply chain to ensure they achieve excellent safety standards.


This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Shawbury.

Essential experience of the Facilities Engineer

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IOSH working safely or higher.
  • Appreciation of working at height, Step Ladder use and inspection.
  • Experience in the application of a permitted SSoW in the management of High-Risk Works.

Qualifications for the Facilities Engineer

  • Qualifications in English, Math, and Science at - CSE - GCSE or equivalent. IT literate (Microsoft Package Inc.; Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Qualified to HNC standard in Electrical Engineering or have IEE Regulation certified (18th Edition)
  • Multi-Skill with either elect or HVAC bias.
  • Elect Eng - City and Guilds 2360 parts 1 and 2 or equivalent (17th or 18th edition)


The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS/SC security clearance for this role.
