Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. Typically for this role you will work 2-3 days per week on-site.

The opportunity:

The Finance Business Partner role is a key part of our UK Portfolio team, focused on the provision of high quality financial analysis and information to support Portfolio level decision making.

We are a unique team in our organisation as we sit across all our key programmes in the UK, helping to provide a consolidated overview of programme financial matters to our UK customer. The role is both internal and customer facing and will have regular customer interaction, requiring the development of strong relationships with both internal and customer partners.

You will go beyond just 'producing the numbers' and will be able to articulate and present the key messages from the data to senior stakeholders. You will contribute through developing a deep understanding of our programmes, and the customer's priorities and challenges.

There is an opportunity to inspire change and challenge our processes, and we are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in digitising and modernising finance processes and reporting tools (e.g. powerBI)

What we're looking for from you:

  • Good communication skills and the ability to form good working relationships are essential to work effectively across multi-functional teams and with our customer.
  • Ability to interpret and understand financial information, and to pull out and communicate the ‘key messages' in a concise way to more senior stakeholders
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA)  with relevant post qualified experience
  • Detailed knowledge of long term contract accounting including IFRS15 and Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes
  • Demonstrable experience in production and ownership of management reporting, including consolidating large datasets from multiple sources and project teams
  • Commercially aware and able to interpret contracts for financial analysis
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Finance systems and tools (e.g. SAP) and MS Excel
  • Experience using powerBI or other similar tools to automate or improve financial reporting processes and outputs
  • Ability to challenge current process and drive continuous improvement in financial process and technologies
