At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Fleet Engineering Delivery Manager at our Faslane site.

The role
As a Fleet Engineering Delivery Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting leadership role within the Fleet Engineering Department at HMNB Clyde and focuses on the delivery of high-quality engineering support to the Royal Navy's submarine flotilla. You will be joining a team of 550 highly effective engineers within the Fleet Operations Directorate. You will be responsible for leading the Delivery Coordinators and their teams in the safe delivery of multi-discipline engineering support across the Royal Navy's Nuclear Submarine programme.

Day to day, you'll be supporting a team of several hundred employees; championing process, technical and business improvements and using continuous improvement techniques to accelerate delivery in key business areas. You will utilise key performance indicators to deliver high performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost and people objectives.

  • You will assist the Head of Fleet Engineering and Production Manager by maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of all the Department's resources.
  • You will interact with senior customer representatives, as well as key internal stakeholders in the planning, enablement and delivery of Submarine maintenance and repair packages.
  • You will be a cultural architect, ensuring that assessments of risk are carried out, human factors are considered, and safe working attitudes and practices are deployed consistently.
  • You will support the development of the team-members and foster a high-performance team.
  • In addition, you will belong to the wider Babcock Marine Nuclear Group and will have the opportunity to support other projects in different roles within your discipline with a focus on longer term career development

This role will largely be based on site but will occasionally require travel to support the programme. We are happy to discuss this with you in more detail.
