  • You need to have a minimum of 5 years proven experience in the Heating and Plumbing industry.
  • Up to date Gas Safe Qualifications. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing with post qualification experience in domestic heating.
  • You’ll also need a fully equipped tool kit to ensure each job can be completed to a high standard, quickly and efficiently.
  • You’ll need a full UK manual driving licence and be confident driving and working in and around South-west and Central London.
  • You’ll need to be prepared to wear a clean Hub uniform and turn up for work punctually, smartly and well presented. 
  • You’ll be fully competent with all boiler diagnostics, servicing, installation, maintenance & repairs, across all major brands.
  • And you will need to know how boilers work inside out. You’ll need to be able to test correctly the electrical circuits of a heating system to accurately and quickly diagnose faults.
  • You’ll also need to know how to fault find system components and pipework configurations. If you’re unsure - this job isn’t for you.
  • You’ll need exceptionally strong customer skills - and be able and willing to communicate effectively with our clients.
  • You will have experience managing your own workload. And be prepared to work on a Saturday on a rota basis.
  • Much of our work is in high-end properties. Our clients can be very demanding. You’ll need to be able to manage these situations and clients with competence, confidence and control.
  • You’ll need to approach each job safely and professionally and be willing to follow our ‘Frontline Technician System’ fully, each and every time without fail.
  • And you will need to understand that sometimes our work can deviate because our clients ask things of us which may not always fit under the category of ‘Heating Engineer’. You’ll need to be prepared to do whatever is necessary within reason on behalf of the client to complete a job.

  • Have a knack for making dry and complex subjects interesting and easy for our clients to understand.
  • Be able to communicate clearly, accurately and persuasively.
  • Not be put off by writing reports or speaking with people holding the highest positions at some of the high-end established businesses we work with.
  • Relish hard work. Never quit till you’re 100% sure the job is done.
  • Be able to come up with original ideas and solutions (but don’t mind borrowing and improving others’).
  • Be fascinated by people - and know how to persuade them to do things.
  • Have an excellent eye for detail.


  • Genuine opportunity to earn £60,000 per annum.
  • Profit share target of £1,000 - £2,000pa.
  • Overtime at 1.5x salary.
  • Generous terms for out-of-hours working - £60ph.
