About the job

MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver For A More Secure Tomorrow

You'll join our Guidance, Control & Navigation (GCN) team developing algorithms and delivering proving activities across a wide range of defence projects. Your focus primarily will be on autopilots, control systems, mid-course guidance, homing, propulsion control, and mission planning algorithms.

Algorithms are developed at various points of the product life cycle including early research studies, feasibility and concept stages, and assessment and product development. This will give you a broad range of experience and a really varied role.

Our team engages with the algorithm users, and understands and responds to their requirements, ultimately delivering algorithms that are fit for their intended use.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in a subject with a strong mathematical content (e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maths, Physics)
  • Experience of algorithm development (guidance, control, data fusion, navigation, image processing)
  • Ideally experience of some of the following: flight dynamics, aerodynamics, sensors, actuation systems
  • Knowledge of MathWorks products, Simulink, embedded Matlab, Stateflow, C, Fortran

Here's what's in it for you

You'll work on incredibly complex and interesting concepts and products. Working cross-functionally, you'll interact with other subject areas like Simulation and Modelling, Software, Navigation Sensors, Hardware-in-the Loop, Systems Design & Validation, Seekers & Sensors, Datalinks and Technical Quality.

We are exposed to ground breaking technological innovations and our GCN Engineers play a meaningful role through the development of our complex weapon systems in all stages of the lifecycle.

There are real opportunities to develop your career as a technology specialist or as a functional/project manager.

Join a great team!

We work in a really stimulating environment, and there are exciting opportunities along with exposure to high-profile, fast-paced projects. We are an innovative bunch with track record in achieving project breakthroughs on time and on budget.
