The Opportunity

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a High Voltage Charging Systems Engineer - Subject Matter Expert to join our Powertrain Energy Management Chapter at a truly exciting time for the team.  The High Voltage Charging System is a critical part of the electrified products which has a high level of customer interaction and technical details. Our goal is to develop a system that robustly provides a luxury and frictionless experience whilst also supporting fast-moving feature enhancements.

 

The Subject Matter Expert is the technical focal point for the attribute and to guide the delivery of a quality, robust product for current and future electrified powertrain application. As a Calibration Subject Matter Expert, you will report into the Group Leader and work with the Chapter Leads and Calibration Engineers to drive Technical Excellence into the product delivery.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Work with the Charging and Battery System Teams to support the overall feature delivery including feature definition, requirements capture, validation and delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and strategic direction and methodology to support the product road map - driving best practise.
  • Provide extensive support issue rectification using sound problem-solving techniques (i.e., six-sigma).
  • Develop, document, maintain and communicate key material to support understanding of the attribute and ensure confidence in a quality calibration delivery.
  • Drive the Technical Excellence to the delivery and continual improvement of calibration quality using forward FMA, DVM, robustness analysis and Prevent Recurrence. 
  • Ensure Body Of Knowledge (BoK) is aligned to the product and has synergies with the product road map
  • Drive common approaches for data collection tools, analysis techniques, instrumentation, working processes and evidence reports,Support the left-shifting of calibration development by interfacing with the Calibration Methodology teams to develop calibrations processes using SiL, HiL and PiL.
  • Maximise efficiency through use of common calibrations across programs and deliver core content within Creta on time and to quality.
  • Support peer reviews of project submissions including Creta content, calibration approach and sign off evidence.


What You’ll Need

 

  • Understanding of Electric Vehicle Architecture particularly around the Charging System.
  • Experienced in the principles of 6-sigma (inc. P-diags, DFMEA).
  • Experience of test facility and test part preparation
  • Experience in process development and requirements definition and the use of design rules / standards.
  • Ability to generate requirements and targets and validation test cases (DVM) and the ability to perform sound Engineering analysis of data from complex applications.
  • Experience of solving complex technical issues using a structured approach with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstration of ability to deliver a field of electronic controls systems.
  • Experience using ETAS INCA/MDA or similar engineering tools.
  • Fundamental level knowledge of Power Electronics, specifically (AC-DC and DC-DC converters, inductors and capacitors, power semiconductors and transformers).
