WHAT TO EXPECT

The System Integration Lead Engineer for High Power bought out finished Twin Machine EDU will have the key responsibilities as listed below to support the delivery of High Powered Jaguar Land Rover Flagship vehicles utilising twin machine EDU technology.

You will need to manage external suppliers to deliver against program delivery engineering milestones:

  • Generate and have approved system specification
  • Deliver prototype parts on time to correct design maturity and quality
  • Achieve engineering sign off deliverables against program gateways
  • Design Integrity critique – report approval test result analysis
  • Use of Evidence Based Engineering Reviews and Technical Sign Off

The EDU Lead Engineer will need to ensure subsystem components, Inverter and eMachine are successfully integrated into the full EDU assembly on time and of the required design maturity and quality. In this role you will support the EDU attribute team to ensure the system-level required characteristics such as, Power, Torque, Efficiency are achieved.

A key part of this role will be to manage supplier-requested Engineering Approval actions, Design Change Requests or Legislation driven changes. You will also ensure RED book cost status is correct and updated via the PACN process. You will be expected to deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System. You will own and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables.

You will manage vehicle test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues and will resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets. You will ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation and will provide input into new feature development.

You will need to ensure all programme design solutions meet:

  • Programme targets for cost and weight
  • Legal regulations and Requirements Management & Design Verification documentation
  • Optical Quality and Premium Consumer Product Audit requirements

Keep all Module documentation up to date including:

  • Meeting minutes
  • Foundation and Programme Design

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

As a High Powered EDU Integration Lead Engineer you will have previous experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, of major driveline commodities within the powertrain environment. You will have a thorough understanding of transmission or electric drive unit systems and designs  as well as experience of Fatigue analysis & Duty Cycle interpretation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, of major driveline commodities within the powertrain environment
  • Thorough understanding of transmission or electric drive unit systems and designs
  • Experience of Fatigue analysis & Duty Cycle interpretation
  • Quality tools, DFMEA, 8D, Six Sigma techniques or equivalent
  • Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
  • JLR processes, WERS system, RMDV, AIM, DOORS, CANalyzer
