WHAT TO EXPECT
The successful candidate for the above role will retain their current employer, i.e. if you are a Jaguar employee you will continue to be administered on the Jaguar grading structure with the associated terms and conditions. If you are currently on BAC or EMC terms, you will retain your current employer but will transfer to a JLR contract and the associated terms and conditions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of base engines from internal JLR functions to support the SVO Cycle Plan, delivering on time to cost and quality targets, while in parallel assessing in-field quality data to highlight and resolve any engine or engine system related quality issues.  The role will require close working with the Core Powertrain teams to ensure the requirements of SVO applications are understood and delivered.  The IC Engines Engineer will report into the SVO IC Engines, Air Path and Fuel System Manager

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support in the delivery of IC Engines for Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) products across the Jaguar Land Rover range of vehicles.
  • Manage SVO engine requirements for vehicle build and bench test, including ensuring funding is in place for components, instrumentation and any special installation hardware (specific PCM, dyno install hardware etc.)
  • Resolve SVO unique issues with component engineering teams, vehicle attribute teams via AIMS system
  • Lead SVO base engine and engine system quality studies for components and systems unique to SVO applications

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Essential:

  • Experience of IC engine systems and engineering
  • Ability to communicate and report out project delivery status up to SVO Director level
  • An understanding of engine failure modes and potential root causes
  • Confidence with analysing large sets of data within Excel and Web based systems
  • Ability to apply problem solving tools to complex problems

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of engine test and validation
  • Experience of handling / analysis of quality data (E.g. JLR IQM in field quality data)
  • Familiarity of engineering change validation and design change release.
  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
