The role will be within the Global Manufacturing Engineering team with a focus on Trim & Final operations, covering a vast scope from initial target setting, best in class and competitor analysis through to virtual development of the vehicle and finally into launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • All Manufacturing Industrial Engineering activities within Trim & Final Assembly on both new vehicle and model year programmes.
  • Working in a Transverse team alongside the Product Agile Squads
  • This role will provide Industrial Engineering support to design, develop and implement manufacturing production processes and associated equipment to enable successful launch of new products into the designated facility within their Operational Expenditure (OpEx) targets for Hours Per Unit (HPU) 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • Experience of assembly operations within manufacturing
  • Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles
  • Industrial Engineering experience with associated tools and techniques
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Data analysis and presentation skills
  • Flexible approach to job responsibilities, work location and working hours
  • Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment
  • Educated to NVQ3, or equivalent, in Engineering related discipline.

Desirable:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in Manufacturing or a similar engineering discipline
  • MOST Work measurement method
  • Institute of Management Services accredited
  • Experience of using 3D Simulation/CAD Viewing software
  • Competitor benchmarking experience
  • Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase
  • Experience of working in an Agile organisation
  • Project management experience
  • Institute of Management Services (IMS) certified
