The opportunity:

We are looking for a Joint Working Advisor (Communications Lead) in MBDA UK with previous experience of working in internal communications in a complex organisation, or with a strong track record in communications, PR, media or related fields who is keen to apply their skills and broaden their experiences into internal communications.

Working with colleagues in the MBDA and the UK MOD, the role involves managing and providing best practice advice to multiple stakeholders at all levels of our organisation and is critical to enhancing the reputation of The Portfolio Team Communications in the business. With good organisation skills, you'll be able to develop and deliver a plan, but also be adaptable to manage changing circumstances.

Able to turn complex information into something understandable for all Stakeholders, you'll have outstanding written skills and experience of delivering engaging content across a wide range of media and formats. You'll be keen to listen and learn, but able to use your knowledge, experience and insights to provide effective guidance to all our stakeholders. You'll also be eager to measure the impact of your work.

Our ideal candidate will work as part of a creative team, with an open and supportive outlook. With the pragmatism to focus and prioritise what is most important to the business and joint working with the MOD. You will also strive to constantly improve what we do and how we do it. We operate in a unique environment which requires commitment and dedication but provides an opportunity to do some career-defining work for the right person.

The successful candidate will report to the Joint Working Manager and support the Portfolio Executive - Joint Working. This will mean supporting Relationships Development, Stakeholder Engagement and Learning and Development interventions.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Significant previous experience in an internal communications role, with a strong track record gained in PR, Communications, media or related fields.
  • Strong experience of managing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation (preferably multi-organisation), including senior leaders, and working with different cultures.
  • Good planning skills but ability to adapt plans to changing circumstances.
  • Exceptional written skills with experiences of delivering content in a variety of media and formats.
  • The ability to deliver short term improvements that take us towards our longer term vision.
  • Committed and dedicated to see things through, with an eagerness to learn and experiment.
  • Experience of delivering Relationships Development, Stakeholder Engagement and Learning and Development interventions.
  • Willingness to travel between sites and to external venues to facilitate/support meetings and events.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body preferred
