A full UK or Irish driving licence is therefore essential.

The successful candidate will work primarily on a diverse range of commercial, industrial, distillery, and renewable energy projects; although, you will have the freedom to work on your own initiative and to develop working relationships in other development sectors, in isolation or alongside our wide range of clients and consultancy colleagues. The role would suit a friendly, talented, and driven landscape architect with the motivation to develop and enhance their skills in a consultancy environment.

The successful candidate will help manage a considerable existing order book and pipeline of projects. There will also be scope to assist in the development of new business for the company and to undertake CPD activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Competence:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Landscape Architecture qualification at degree or post-graduate level, with experience in professional practice (obtained from working in the UK) and be capable of supporting work-winning activities and identifying new work opportunities.
  • Good design skills and technical knowledge are important; although, high-quality reporting, graphics, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills are a priority.
  • Experience in writing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) is advantageous and proficiency in the use of computer software including AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial.
  • Photography skills would also be beneficial.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for a variety of small, to large-scale projects across many development sectors
  • Delivery of work in accordance with Mabbett's project management procedures
  • Establish and utilise existing networking avenues to promote our business.
  • Identifying and contributing to new business opportunities and helping to win work
  • Liaison with clients and multidisciplinary teams, obtaining good client feedback
  • Undertaking of site work, including trips which may require long-distance travelling and overnight stays away from your place of work
  • Supervision of more junior staff when providing support in and out of the primary place of work
  • Other duties as appropriate such as preparation of fee proposals, marketing material, and practice management.
  • Develop professional expertise

Skills:

  • Demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to meeting client and business expectations
  • Possession of excellent written reporting skills, and competency in Microsoft Office software
  • Experience of managing the written and graphic outputs of others, ensuring they are of high-quality
  • Demonstrate good design skills and proficiency in the use of computer software including AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience of working, consulting, and engaging with clients, external team members, relevant stakeholders and the public, where necessary
  • Possess excellent negotiation skills, with demonstrable experience of tendering and preparation of fee proposals
  • Have a collaborative approach to working with other design team members and the management of projects and to meeting timescales
  • Possess a clean driving licence, with demonstrable experience of undertaking field work, often alone and sometimes in remote locations
