MBDA is seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our team as a Laser System Lead Architect
Job Title: Laser System Lead Architect
Salary: Circa £45,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
Location: Bristol (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The opportunity:
As the Laser System Lead Architect for our DragonFire program, you will play a crucial role in developing a world-class Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) air defence system. This opportunity is unlike any other, as it offers the chance to be part of a boundary-pushing weapon system development program that has garnered significant industry and customer engagement.
We are looking for flexible and motivated candidates to continue to develop DragonFire into a world class, deployable, LDEW air defence system. Our ambitious plans involve parallel and interleaved streams of pioneering technology experimentation and rapid weapon system development, providing opportunities across the key weapon system domains of Systems Engineering: requirements, design, performance analysis and certification.
