The Audio Group is a key part of the Infotainment function within our Digital Product Platform, and focuses on concept, development, integration and test of the latest audio & active noise control solutions across the whole Jaguar Land  Rover product range.

The main purpose of this role is to be the Engineer responsible for delivering integrated sub systems elements, which may be physical components, a set of related components or software into vehicle programmes. Responsibilities in include ensuring the content is properly specified, the supplier delivers against this specification and that the delivered system is fully verified for inclusion on a vehicle program meeting the programme requirements for quality, cost and time.

  • Delivery of systems within Audio across the range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the area onto all programmes, in line with the Systems Engineering discipline outlined by Product Creation Systems.
  • Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components including issue resolution and objective data analysis.
  • Work with Technical Specialists and Research Engineering on Attribute and Function Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition and Failure Mode Avoidance
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Knowledge, skills & experience 

Essential:

  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering in SysML (using an MBSE environment such as MSOSA, Cameo or Sparx) to robustly characterise complex problem spaces.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, eliciting and collating potentially conflicting stakeholder needs, in order to refine into sufficiently explicit functional/system requirements.
  • Ability to recognise stakeholder familiarity/fluency with MBSE/SysML and produce model content in a form they can understand. Proven technical knowledge related to the system being delivered
  • Experience of developing technical requirements specifications and associated test plans
  • Experience of planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles
  • Experience of delivering technical products through a team, utilising strong people management skills
  • Experience of delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels
  • A formal qualification such as degree within Systems Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or relevant equivalent experience is preferred.

Desired: 

  • Magic Systems of Systems Architect or the wider Dassault toolset.
  • Significant industry experience of developing complex systems using an MBSE approach.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification.
  • OMG OCSMP SysML certifications.
  • Ability to teach/coach colleagues less familiar with MBSE/SysML.
  • Functional Safety ISO26262, Cyber security (ISO 21434)
  • Knowledge of Automotive Networks (Ethernet & SOME/IP, CAN, A2B)
  • Passion for Audio systems & acoustics.
  • Understanding of reliability and robustness analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, Six Sigma etc.
  • Working experience of Agile methods and tools.
  • Experience of the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Experience of building and managing multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
  • Effective change and configuration management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, and eagerness to produce accurate and consistent output/models.
