Lead EDU Integration Build Support Engineer

WHAT TO EXPECT 

We are looking for a Lead EDU Integration Build Support Engineer to provide engineering support to the prototype build team to enable the required quality levels to be achieved.

As a Lead EDU Integration Build Support Engineer, you will possess the knowledge and the ability to coordinate across multiple design teams to ensure that all stakeholder input is considered to maximise the value of every prototype we build.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Build Documentation – 

• Ensure the build brochure is created and approved by all commodity teams to ensure a quality build event
• Coordinate with technical illustrators to create a brochure
• Create a logbook to enable documentation of build quality

Instrumentation – 

• Create an instrumentation list aligned with test requesters
• Coordinate the design of the EDU instrumentation and create the brochure to instruct the build team on how to install instrumentation

Prototype Tooling Coordination –

• Identify prototype tooling requirement
• Coordinate design activity and procurement of tooling

Build Issue Resolution – 

• Provide regular support to the build issue review
• Where necessary create the standard problem definition of issues identified and cascade to the appropriate component team

Post Test Strip Support – 

• Create a strip book to ensure appropriate information is captured during the strip process
• Coordinate design activity and procurement of strip tooling

Rework Coordination – 

• Coordinate the rework of prototype EDU’s as required
• Lead integration activities for test specific assemblies

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Previous experience with prototype and production manufacturing methods
• Experience with a structured problem resolution method such as 6 sigma or 8D
• Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred 
• Previous experience with Electric Drive Unit design 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
• A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas
• An effective team player that actively develops and supports team members
