Being part of JLRs future growth, you will have the opportunity to innovative luxury vehicles, developing either exterior or interior feasibility.

 

The team's purpose is to ensure the integrity of our world class designs are maintained whilst delivering a feasible vehicle, by creating feasible CAD based geometric proposals and alternative proposals, lead proactive input to the Creative Design teams, as well as prioritising issues and setting the agenda for weekly Design Feasibility meetings.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

  • Assess compatibility of Design Intent against Programme Assumptions and Attribute Targets as described in the PCDS Design deliverables (utilising former the Feasibility Checkpoint process). Contact External customers to initiate and lead discussion around disconnects for given vehicle zone(s) and overall Exterior or Interior.
  • Generate feasible creative alternative proposals where necessary in order to meet the Design Intent which challenge assumptions, propose alternative attribute balances and are capable of delivering high Design and Crafted Quality results.
  • Support the Studio Engineering Manager by generating weekly programme status', issues resolution planning and execution, leading the immediate team, gateway planning, preparation for and partake in where appropriate escalation forums.

  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:

  • Ability to think creatively to solve 3Dimensional (3D) technical/feasibility issues
  • Technical expertise – to guide the cross functional team (including the programme related Studio Engineering team) to deliver feasible solutions while maintaining the design aesthetic
  • A broad understanding/working experience within an Engineering environment delivering vehicle package, system, component, or attribute driven technical solutions
  • People skills - a critical element of the role is the resolution of difficult feasibility issues therefore the ability to work in a cross functional team is key
  • Apply business acumen and a customer driven mind-set to deliver designs
  • CAD drafting, Design Department and Process knowledge
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workload
