  • Analyse and assess European user requirements to establish reusable and scalable Systems Architectures and System CONOPS for L3Harris
  • As part of a talented team of systems engineers worldwide - maintain an understanding of solutions that are available, new and developing technology and horizon scan to help guide the direction of internal R&D funding.
  • Work with systems engineering within TCOM and other parts of the company to develop system architectures for complete solutions to meet customer-specific requirements for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.
  • Integrate solutions into existing customer systems. Platforms may include land vehicles, shelters, fixed sites, ships, aircraft, UAVs.
  • Work closely with Sales and Business Development to capture and document customer requirements and contribute to the yearly strategic plan.
  • Prepare white papers and presentations and present directly to customers the custom systems solutions.
  • Coordinate with Project Management to ensure the conversion of customer requirements, including informal requirements, into solutions that balance the technical, schedule and cost constraints for the system design.
  • Support Proposal Lead to ensure that proposals are executed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship within a growing Systems Engineering organization.
  • Analyse and exploit previous solutions from proposals and programs in order to provide foundation capabilities for new captures.
  • Position requires the demonstrated ability to work effectively with other organizations (Engineering, Sales, Program Management, and Operations) to complete assigned projects
  • Travel and meet directly with international customers and users.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BEng, BSc in relevant subject and 9+ years of relevant experience or MEng, MSc with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Definition/Systems Design/Systems Integration with relevant technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Broad knowledge of military tactical communication systems, SATCOM systems, IP network design, user services/applications and military security implications. International Government/ MOD/NATO systems experience highly desirable.
  • An interest in how solutions can be designed and put together with a thirst for knowledge of new technologies and an interest in horizon-scanning to understand what technologies are available in the market and what is being developed.
  • Design and delivery of Multi-Level Secure (MLS) and/or Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Framework Processes.
  • Proficiency at writing clear and concise language tailored to a wide variety of audiences. Successful candidate should combine excellent technical, inter-personal and customer skills with demonstrated capacity to foster team building within and beyond his/her work group.
  • Vehicle and shelter systems integration - to include communication systems, intercom systems, electronics, software application, and power systems.
  • Strong technical proposal experience to include knowledge and expertise in the following areas: detailed scheduling, work breakdown structure development, basis of estimates development and technical writing.
  • Packaging and performance verification of electrical systems for harsh environments including rugged packaging for transport and mobile. applications. Military Systems experience in this area a plus.
  • International travel experience as well as foreign language proficiency a plus.
