WHAT TO EXPECT

 We are looking to appoint a talented Whole Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer to join our newly reformed Concepts Engineering function.

 This is an opportunity to generate CAD schemes supporting the development of the upper body and under body package layouts in concept phases for all new JLR vehicles.  This means taking accountability for the whole vehicle package layout.  You’ll be joining a leadership team who are invested in your career and personal development.  You also get to interact with a diverse range of functions.  Our department also includes the visualisation team who have exposure to new leading technology and the package buck team.

 WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• You will have experience in laying out upper body hard points: Occupant Positioning across all seats, IP & Console, steering column, base of screen, pedals, ingress / egress, trunk dimensioning and useability; or,
• Experience in laying out underbody hard points: Groundlines, Attitude planes, running clearance, approach/departure, front & rear end length for Vehicle Safety / SI Requirements, key Axle points, Tyre Envelopes and EDU/ICE Dynamic motion wraps.
• You’ll have an understanding of the interdependencies between Upper body & Underbody requirements (including Legals).
• You’ll be competent in CAD creation and visualisation – Catia V5 & V6

 As this is a newly formed team we can find ourselves meeting ambiguity at times so being a self-starter and someone who can thrive in this kind of environment along with having the confidence to interact easily with other at all levels (including Director level) will make for a successful Whole Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer.
