WHAT TO EXPECT

We are searching for a Lead Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join the Vehicle Dynamics team at Jaguar Land Rover to deliver the ride, steering and handling of future world class vehicles.

As a Lead Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, you will be responsible the tuning and integration of all aspects of dynamics attribute delivery from concept to production.

The successful candidate will be experienced in tuning loops of vehicle dynamics and the use of virtual and physical prototypes to set and deliver targets. A key member of the development team, they will have experience of limit handling and stability manoeuvres, with a track record of high-performance driving.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Define, Deliver and Achieve Sign-off for all Vehicle Dynamics Attribute targets
  • Validate targets can be achieved in the concept phase
  • Ensure Vehicle Dynamics requirements are cascaded and transacted in system and component teams
  • Demonstrates vehicle performance status vs target to stakeholders and customers
  • Leading and integrating tuning of. springs, bars, ARBs, dampers, bushes, active systems

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

The successful candidate will be experienced in tuning loops of Vehicle Dynamics and the use of virtual and physical prototypes to set and deliver targets.

You will be a key member of the development team, they will have experience of limit handling and stability manoeuvres, with a track record of high – performance driving.

  • Comfortable challenging with strong influencing and engagement skills - able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential – 

  • Significant experience tuning road vehicles
  • High level of demonstrable proving ground experience
  • Excellent subjective vehicle assessment of steering, ride and handling skills
  • Demonstrable dynamics system tuning including use of K&C and objective test data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree or relevant experience

Desirable – 

  • Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a project team environment
  • Strong project management experience
  • Good working knowledge of Product Creation Delivery System (or similar process)
