The role:

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Delivering airworthy and serviceable aircraft to our customer in a fast paced, challenging and real-life operational setting critical to future defence output.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Be responsible, alongside a team of mechanical and avionic LAE's for the generation and release to service of serviceable and safe aircraft in accordance with civilian legislation/regulation and in line with Babcock company approvals.
  • You will help to drive the delivery of the flying activities at RNAS Yeovilton alongside your Babcock and Military colleagues by taking a 'Whole Force' approach to our activities and ensuring that Babcock's excellent safety and delivery reputation is always maintained.

Essential experience of the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:

  • Specific technical knowledge
  • Sound understanding of partnering and alliance between customer and contract
  • Part 66, B1.2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
  • Supervisory experience in a Civil/Military Aviation environment
  • Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required
  • Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of MOD Engineering procedures/documentation

This role is full time and is based on site at RAF Yeovilton however you may on occasion be asked to deploy to other sites or support detachments at other operating locations.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
