This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance at our Sizewell C site. Sizewell C (SZC) will be a 3.2gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6million homes. It will be a close copy of Hinkley Point C which is already under construction in Somerset.

The role
As a Lifting and Mechanical Handling Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The prime areas of activity will include develop lifting strategies and plans to support modular construction and installation of prefabricated equipment from offsite manufacturing facilities, and support planning and preparations for the replicated core scope using lessons learned and modern methods of construction application.

Day to day, you'll play a vital role in developing the projects plans and execution methodologies.

• Effectively contribute within a small but high-performing team with autonomy.
• Operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation and in multidisciplinary working groups.
• Have adequate cross sector experience and communication skills to be able to influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Be a contributor to the overall output and related strategies of the MEH team

This role is full-time and will be based at our Bristol location.

Essential experience of the Lifting and Mechanical Handling Engineer:

• A proven and demonstrable track record of delivery in this arena across other sectors, e.g Nuclear, Oil and Gas, or other highly regulated industries
• In depth knowledge of UK Lifting Regulations and Standards.
• Extensive experience of developing lifting and mechanical handling plans
• Extensive experience with application of 3D/4D modelling

Qualifications for the Lifting and Mechanical Handling Engineer:

• Engineer degree or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
