The role
As a Lifting Operations Multi Skilled Operative - Slinger, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing multi-skilled, slinging and lifting operations tasking support to HMNB Clyde through the Lifting Operations department as and when directed by section line management.

Day to day, you'll provide lifting activity support to Fleet Engineering teams to enable the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to ensure their department meets the objectives of the Business. Further responsibilities will include:

• Provide lift activity support to enable the identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance to HMNB Clyde site and estate operations.
• Ensure that work is carried out in line with best industry practice and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
• Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems of Work and control of work processes within HMNB Clyde policies

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and will be based at Faslane, Helensburgh.

Essential experience of the Lifting Operations Multi Skilled Operative - Slinger:

• Slinging and movement route fleeting operations on and around vessels
• Fleet Engineering department activities and equipment e.g., scaffolding, vessel & jetty SOPs (Stand Operational Procedures).
• Risk assessments & safe systems of work

Qualifications for the Lifting Operations Multi Skilled Operative - Slinger:

• A recognised accredited qualification SVQ Level 2 or above in Controlling Lifting Operations: Slinger/Signaller.
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
