WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a brand new opportunity to join Jaguar Land Rover’s Body in White department as a Maintenance Leader.

In this role you will have the ability to maintain and improve many types of technology, including robotics, automation systems, sealing systems, in-line measurement systems.

As a Maintenance Leader in our BIW, you will lead the Maintenance team delivering a high-quality service to production as well as having the unique opportunity gives you free rein to make equipment improvements, as well as having the choice of leading exciting new projects.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Managing shifts to achieve uptime and quality requirements
  • Reactive Maintenance and Break Downs - carry out root cause investigations and counter measures to closure.
  • Plan, schedule and carry out running checks and repairs as well as drive the planned preventive maintenance programme (PPM).
  • Implementation of company and departmental processes and procedures including safety, 5s methodology, time, attendance and disciplinary at shift level will be a part of your daily duties.
  • You will liaise with Quality, Project, Purchasing and Safety teams to reach full technical and commercial alignment.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar role including knowledge of mechanical/electrical control systems including PLC's and body construction joining techniques would be an advantage
  • To be able to drive their team along the maintenance operating system to deliver the best outcome available
  • Experience of specifying and installing new automation to realise productivity targets
  • Experience of Environmental controls and practices
  • Demonstrate experience in the application of logical approach to problem solving
  • A flexible attitude to shift work, overtime and management requests
  • Be an effective team player, actively developing and supporting team members including apprentices
  • Support the production management team in achieving quality and volume targets
  • A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas/problems 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Quality Operating System procedures and deliverables
  • Demonstrate experience in the application of a logical approach to problem solving
  • Understanding and application of Lean Tools & Techniques
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of QPS & WES (or other standardised working documentation)
  • Knowledge of ABB robots, Ethernet IP/IO, PLC's and safety PLC's
  • Knowledge of Company procedures regarding Safety, COSHH and ergonomics
  • Ability to make presentations to work groups and management
  • Knowledge of 8D/PPS
