The Opportunity

Jaguar Land Rover has an opportunity for a Manage the Change Coordinator to join our Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering - Manage the Change team (PTME-MTC). The team is responsible for managing the implementation of changes or deviations to parts and processes in our engine, electric drive and battery manufacturing sites. The role will plan and coordinate the introduction of manufacturing process changes to enable successful launch of new parts, products and processes, ensuring stakeholder alignment and manufacturing systems readiness. The individual will provide technical support and drive implementation through the Manage the Change process from end-to-end, with key input in design release approval, line trial coordination and mitigation of issues before and after the change is implemented, tracking them to resolution. You’ll be part of a team of engineers and associates based in both our UK powertrain manufacturing sites and will liaise with our colleagues in China and India, ensuring global alignment and sharing of best practices.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • To coordinate effective change management for global part and process changes
  • Provide support to enable change management practises and tools to be utilised
  • Project manage planning, development and implementation of all part and process changes
  • To manage stakeholders and ensure all necessary inputs for a successful change introduction are met
  • Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate
  • Represent powertrain plants at program meetings / change management meetings at all levels and present where applicable
  • Coordinate the development and submission of responses to product letters, PACNS etc
  • Coordinate, support and/or conduct line trials
  • Represent the team in support of virtual build events, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure continual global sharing of best practice and improvement projects.
  • Ensure impact of part change is understood and that implementation is coordinated across all manufacturing sites.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of involvement in a manufacturing Programme or Project
  • Experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • A solid understanding of managing changes to product and process
  • Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
  • Strong IT skills in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project)

Desirable:

  • Understanding of engineering release systems (WERS)
  • Understanding of the PCDS process or similar engineering programme gateway process
  • Ideally educated to degree level in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering discipline
  • Previous experience of process planning and launch preferred
  • Understanding of engine assembly / machining processes
