Job title: Manufacturing Plant and Equipment Planning Manager

Location: Samlesbury/Warton

Salary: £64,000+ dependant on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • You will take responsibility for a team of Team Leaders and Project Engineers who work with internal customers to define strategies and plans related to Production related equipment projects, this can range from small projects driven by Health & Safety requirements, or efficiency through to full manufacturing facilities supporting new product introductions
  • The role ensures that projects have clear objectives and benefits to allow key strategic discussions to be made to feed into the Companies 5 to 10 planning cycle
  • Working in conjunction with internal stakeholders from areas such as Production, Engineering, Quality, Facilities Management (Infrastructure), Safety, Procurement; and external Suppliers, sub-contractors, and other governance bodies to outline specific timescales and budgets
  • This role will require you to ensure effective communication and engagement at all levels within the organisation, in particular with internal customers at various levels
  • Your team will provide essential information/plans to the Delivery team to allow them to deliver the Project in the most efficient and cost effective manner, in line with Customer expectations

Your skills and experiences:

  • Working/Worked in a discipline related to mechanical or electrical engineering and have experience in the planning or delivery of Production related equipment in such areas Machining, Fabrications, Non-Destructive testing, Additive Layer Manufacturing, component treatment and finishing (i.e., Chemical processing, spraying)
  • Working experience of planning or delivering equipment projects, within a manufacturing production environment whilst managing Quality/Deliverables, time, cost, schedule
  • Knowledge of investment planning and manufacturing Strategy
  • Experience of investment justification at a senior level
  • Experience of managing a team of Project Engineers, and reporting on Project progress

The Planning Team:

As a part of Planning Team, you will assist in identifying the customer requirements, expanding those into detailed specifications, working in conjunction with relevant functional governance to establish the most cost-effective solution, working with the Supply base. You then establish the Project Plan (Time, Cost and Benefits) to facilitate a business case, and then deliver the solution, and ensure that the supplied equipment delivers the required solution.
