The successful candidate for the above role will transfer to an EPMC contract. i.e. if you are a Jaguar employee you will be administered on the EPMC grading structure with the associated terms and conditions.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR is searching for an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer (within machine assembly). You will join our Current Manufacturing Engineering department who are tasked with focusing on the next step of JLR’s growth and rebranding. Here you will be part of the process launch team, responsible for the introduction of new manufacturing products and facilities within electrification, delivering our next generation vehicles.

 

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, your role will support future powertrain production facilities for the development of JLR’s electrification range of vehicles (Battery Packs, Electric Drive Units & Sub Assemblies) as well as current ICE production facilities. You will be a part of the process team working closely with Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering departments ensuring robust and quality equipment handover of new facilities and with Manufacturing Operations teams supporting current production. As our future facilities are being built you will review various other site technology, as it is your responsibility to ensure our new EMC facilities meet JLR’s brand imagine standards.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement assembly and test processes and facilities.

  • Design for assembly and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure robust process quality planning, including FMEA's.

  • Evaluate manufacturing technologies for various applications.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and support new model planning.

  • Achieve Equipment Capability targets for new facilities.

  • While being based at Wolverhampton EMC, you will also travel to various sites such as; Gaydon, Whitley, Germany, and Poland.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Strong IT skills (MS Office, CAD).

  • An understanding of assembly processes and equipment.

  • Sufficient experience in facility installation, commissioning, and product launch.

  • Fluent in Electrical and Mechanical machine drawings.

  • A good understanding of manufacturing engineering with the ability to review and improve engineering drawings.
