The role
As a Marine Engineer Section Head, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll work within the Support Business in the delivery of complex deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy's landing ships.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Maintain mechanical and electrical systems and equipment
  • Engage with outgoing and incoming ships staff teams to accept and handover equipment
  • Operate and Set To Work equipment and systems within the section
  • Identify and rectify defects
  • Accept equipment from contractors ensuring that all contracted work is complete to the required standard

This is a full-time role, 36-hours per week onsite at our Devonport site.

Essential experience of the Marine Engineer Section Head:

  • You will be an experienced Marine Engineer with a track record of successful section management and delivering change
  • As an excellent communicator, you will be comfortable with written and verbal communications with the ability to interact at all levels
  • You will have a good understanding of Systems Engineering and be agile and adaptable

Qualifications for the Marine Engineer Section Head:

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstratable experience

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
