The role:
As a Marine Systems Support Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will join a national team of around 1000 Engineers and Designers within the Marine Sector of Babcock. We are a leading design and through life support consultancy providing naval architecture, marine system engineering, electrical engineering, design modelling, supportability and project support services to the marine and defence markets.

Day-to-day, you'll inform the proactive management of support engineering activity. You will also:

  • Support the development of through life equipment support solutions.
  • Generate technical advice and engineering support for marine systems and equipment.
  • Develop systems thinking to ensure systems and equipment are supported with due consideration applied to adjacent systems, processes, stakeholders, and overall platform capability.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Marine Systems Support Engineer:

  • Relevant engineering background that is appropriate to supporting complex and safety critical systems and equipment.
  • Effective communicator, able to work with a range of stakeholders.
  • Problem solving skills.


Qualifications for the Marine Systems Support Engineer:

  • Relevant engineering qualification such as HND/FdSc or equivalent, or equivalent experience will be considered and advantageous.
  • Ideally have professional registration.


Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain a minimum of Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
