Job Title: Masker

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: Competitive - Depending on experience & flexibility.

Job type: Full Time - Permanent. 38 hours per week. Additional overtime maybe required Monday to Friday and or Saturday mornings were required. There is some flexibility around the core start and finish times with an early finish on Fridays. The company offers 25 days holiday and overtime at competitive rates.

Currock Engineering Ltd is an established Precision Engineering company based in Chelmsford, Essex. The company has a large machine shop that provides work to our paint shop.

Purpose of role and key accountabilities:

Working as part of a small team, masking finishing machined components. Masking is required in specifically defined area of the surface of a part must be exposed to the paint process.

Masking is extremely important. It must be masked in the right places in order for the product to function the way it should and according to the engineering requirements specified by the drawing and customer specifications.

Controlling dimension is critical in a number of areas, including threaded holes and also in areas where parts may fit together. Contact areas are sometimes left uncoated to achieve precise fit.

The masking of these areas needs to be precise for parts to conform and pass our quality requirements.

Masking the components in masking tape ready to be painted Loading and unloading duties along with general manual handling Inspection of components.

Cleaning of parts before final inspection Working in a busy and fast paced manufacturing environment ensuring the painter are supplied with the appropriate parts and not held up.

The team is small and friendly. The right candidate will be honest, reliable, and able to work well under pressure at times.
