The role
As a Material Planning Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll provide key services in coordinating materials, supply and demand across HMNB Clyde sites.

Day to day, you'll coordinate the materials required for planned maintenance and reactive tasks ensuring that materials are technically fit for purpose, the required quality and obtained in a timely and cost effective manner.

* Assist the Planning Specialist in maximising the utilisation of all the section's resource.
* Control and monitor stock holdings within logistics controlled stores and local stores areas ensuring adequate stocks are held.
* Generate and control part numbers for materials to be held in stock defining technical characteristics and the required control levels Including management of minimum and maximum stock levels and reordering logic.
* Interface with Procurement to ensure that supplier to part relationships are developed and that inventory parts are systematically linked to purchase parts.
* Specify requirements, liaise with and arrange for subcontractors to support maintenance teams where the technical expertise is not available in-house.

* Enterprise resource planning
* Material planning procedures and processes
* MS Office
* Procurement processes.

We offer hybrid working - 2 days working onsite (Faslane or Coulport) and 3 days working from home.

Qualifications for the Material Planning Engineer
* HNC in Engineering/Planning or Equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
